Hostel Rules

General rules

The following Hostel Rules are intended to help secure the comfort and safety of all students and staff residing in the hostel. All rules outlined below must be strictly followed by all students residing in the hostel. Violation of these rules will make students liable for disciplinary action.

1.

The term of stay at the hostel will be for the academic session prescribed by RMLA University.

2.

Students are not allowed to stay in the hostel during the vacation period.

3.

Students will be solely responsible for their own belongings, including any valuable items. They must not leave their rooms unlocked in their absence. The college will not be held responsible for theft or loss of any personal items.

4.

Any case of sickness must be reported immediately to the Warden. First Aid and basic medical aid will be provided to the students. Students who wish to show a private medical practitioner can do so upon getting permission from the Warden. In such cases, the student will bear all costs associated with her treatment.

5.

Any student who is suffering from any illness that can potentially harm others at the hostel will be transferred from the hostel and sent home until she recovers.

6.

Students are not permitted to keep any type of weapon, including licensed firearms, in the hostel premises under any circumstances.

7.

Students who do not choose to eat the meals and snacks provided by the hostel will have to arrange their food at their own cost.

8.

Prohibited substances, such as drugs, narcotics, etc are not allowed on hostel premises.

9.

Only visitors who have been permitted at the time of admission to the hostel by the guardian will be allowed in the hostel. No item of any kind is allowed to be given to the students by anyone other than the person authorised.

Rooms & Building

1.

Every student should stay in the room allotted to her by the Warden. Student will not be allowed to change rooms once allotted.

2.

All rooms have fittings and required furniture for students to use during their stay at the hostel. Before vacating the rooms, students must hand over the room, all fittings and furniture in the same condition as it was given to them.

3.

Students are not allowed to keep any other furniture in their hostel room other than that issued to them by the college authorities.

4.

Students must not make any kind of alterations to the premises. Student will be responsible for any loss or damage to the hostel property.

Facilities & Resources

1.

Students are not allowed to use the hostel premises, facilities or resources for any meetings or activities without taking prior permission from the Warden.

2.

Students should respect and be responsible with all the facilities and resources provided to them.

3.

Students must not litter within the hostel premises, and maintain basic cleanliness and hygiene in rooms, bathrooms and common rooms.

4.

Students should turn off lights, fans and any other unnecessary electrical appliances as they leave the room.

5.

Students must not use any electrical appliances individually or collectively without getting prior permission from the Warden.

6.

Playing music, listening to the radio and watching television is only allowed in the hostel with prior permission from the Warden.

Discipline & Behaviour

In case of any behavioural misconduct, the student’s name will be entered in the "Conduct Book". Three entries in the "Conduct Book" will result in the student being expelled from the hostel.

Unseemly and inappropriate behaviour and conduct will not be tolerated.

2.

Students must not misbehave with hostel staff and must treat them with respect. Any misbehaviour on the part of the staff should be reported immediately to the Warden.

3.

Students must conduct themselves in a manner that does not unreasonably disturb other students at all times.

ATTENDANCE & LEAVE

1.

Students must give their attendance at the specified times every day.

2.

Students must be in their rooms no later than 6:00 pm, and students are not allowed to leave the hostel premises after 6:00 pm.

3.

During the term, students cannot leave the hostel without prior permission from the Warden and College Authorities. Leave application must be supported with a request from the applicant's guardian showing genuine and valid reason for taking leave.
