Assessment is gathering and analysis of information about student performance. It identifies what student know, understand can do and feel at different stages in the learning process. Assessment in KBIC is integral to all learning. It is central to effectively guiding children through the five essential elements of learning:
- The understanding of concepts
- The acquisition of knowledge
- The mastering of skills
- The development of positive attitudes and
- The decision to take responsible action.
Thereafter to provide a feedback to students – in order to assist them to develop an understanding of where they are and to help them on to the next stage. The assessment system guides the teachers in planning and teaching at every step and is also used to provide a feedback to parents to assist them in understanding where their child is and support their child’s learning
In KBPS everyone involved in the learning process of students (students, teachers, parents, and administrators) must have clear understanding of the assessment system for which parents are invited to understand the system at the beginning of the academic term.
Students are graded and promoted to the next class on the basis of these assessment via written, oral and practical tests and examinations conducted throughout the year.
